It was a cold November night. Brian had returned to the band's flat earlier than he had anticipated. Sadly and somewhat angrily, he unlocked the door and slammed it behind him. Freddie stirred in his sleep, but did not wake. Brian's heart flip-flopped as he regarded the form of the dark haired singer. 'He's so beautiful,' Brian thought. 'If only I could tell him how I feel…'
Ever since Queen had started, Brian felt a strange attraction to Freddie. It was as if he'd met him somewhere before. As Brian got to know the gorgeous singer, he realized that he was falling in love.
Brian wandered into the kitchen and placed his keys on the table. Then he stripped down to his underwear and walked into the bedroom.
"Ouch, damn!" Brian exclaimed as he tripped over a chair. Freddie was jolted awake.
"What's going on?" Freddie demanded.
"I tripped over the fucking chair," Brian said, turning on the light. His heart thumped when he saw Freddie watching him.
"Are you okay?" Freddie asked him, genuinely concerned.
"I'll be fine," Brian sighed.
"What's wrong?" Freddie asked.
"Nothing," came the immediate answer.
Freddie looked at him quizzically. Brian looked away.
"I'm going to bed," Brian said glumly.
"Aww, come on, stay up with me," Freddie coaxed. "Now that I'm awake, I'll never get back to sleep."
"Okay," Brian said, trying to hide his joy. "What do you want to do?"
"We could watch the telly."
"Nah, I don't feel like T.V. right now," Brian said.
"You wanna play truth or dare?"
"Sure," Brian said, against his better judgement.
"Come lay with me, darling," Freddie told Brian. "That way we won't have to yell across the room."
Obediently, Brian slipped under the covers next to Freddie's warm body. He shivered with joy.
"Truth or dare?" Freddie asked.
"Truth," Brian said.
"Am I your favorite singer?"
"Of course!" Brian answered. 'You're my favorite person, too,' he thought. "Truth or dare?"
"Truth."
Brian's heart pounded.
"Is it true that you're gay?" Brian asked, then wished he hadn't. Freddie laughed.
"I'm gay as a daffodil, my dear," he replied, grinning. Brian's heart melted.
They played for a long time, neither one asking or daring the other what they really wanted to. Finally, Freddie said:
"I'm getting rather tired."
"Me too," Brian agreed.
"Nighty-night," Freddie said, turning off the light. Brian's heart caught on fire and smoldered in his chest.
"Freddie," he finally managed to croak.
"Yes, Bri?"
"I…I kinda have a…a crush on you," Brian blurted, glad it was dark so that Freddie couldn't see him blushing.
"Really?" Freddie asked calmly. Brian winced and closed his eyes.
"I kinda have a crush on you, too," Freddie told Brian shyly. Brian's eyes flew open.
"You do?"
"Yes, Bri."
Brian giggled. He couldn't help it. He was so nervous. Turning on his side, his eyes searched the darkness for the shape of his lover. He reached toward Freddie and stroked the singer's silky hair, and then he moved closer, cuddling the performer's slender body in his arms.
"I love you, Freddie," he breathed, burying his face in Freddie's ebony hair.
"I love you too, Brian," Freddie said, wrapping his legs around the guitarist. They snuggled closer together.
"Damn it, Bri, I love you!" Freddie said forcefully. Brian squeezed him tight.
"Freddie…Oh, my darling Freddie, I love you, too," he replied, on the verge of happy tears.
"Why'd you wait so long to tell me?" Freddie implored.
"I was afraid you wouldn't love me back."
Silence filled the room, and Brian held Freddie as tight as he could, afraid that if he relinquished his grasp, Freddie would disappear.
"But I do love you," Freddie whispered.
"I know," Brian said. "And I'm glad of that."
Freddie leaned up from Brian's chest and kissed him. Brian kissed him back, his tongue dancing across Freddie's lips. Freddie moaned.
"I love you, I love you," Freddie panted. He drew his legs tighter around Brian and wrapped his arms around his torso.
"Don't ever let me go," Freddie pleaded.
"I'll never let you go," Brian promised.
"My fine friend," Freddie whispered. "Take me wiz you and love me forever."
"My fine friend," Brian breathed. "Forever…"
I hope you guys like it. I LOVED writing it! Damn, what I wouldn't give to be Brian. ;P
